How can I use the data, recorded by MRS-4, on my computer?
When you use Card Manager software, you can convert the data to WAV/AIFF format. Both Win and Mac version are provided, and you can download it from our web site by free.

I recorded and used up all 4 tracks. Can't I record any more?
MRS-4 has "Bounce" function, so that you can combine 4 tracks to 2 tracks or 1track. After you bounce, un-necessary tracks can be used for additional recording. Please note that empty memory area on the SmartMedia, same size as recorded time, must be needed temporarily when you bounce. Please refer operation manual, bounce function page.
Where can I purchase SmartMedia for MRS-4?
SmartMedia is a general memory card for digital cameras. You can purchase it at computer shops. You may also able to find some net-stores. If you cannot find it, please ask Zoom distributor in your country.
I want to use the data of MRS-4 on my computer. What should I prepare?
Please purchase a USB interface SmartMedia Reader/Writer, in order to import the data on SmartMedia. You can purchase it at the store where displays computers or digital cameras. Please note that you need to download free software "Card Manager" from our website, which convert original compressed data format to WAV/AIFF format. Both Win and Mac version are available.

I want to make audio CD by using CD-R/RW drive on my computer, after I convert audio data to WAV/AIFF format by using Card Manager software.
When you make audio CD, WAV/AIFF data must be 16bit and 44.1 kHz sampling rate. But audio data of the MRS-4 is 16 bit and 32 kHz sampling rate, so you need to convert sampling rate. You can convert it by DAW software or free software in the market. Please note that monaural data cannot be audio CD, so you have to convert it to 2 track (stereo) WAV file. Card Manager for Mac can convert each track to monaural AIFF, so you also need to convert it to stereo track by using DAW software.
Is there compatibility between PS-02 data and MRS-4 data, recorded to Smart Media?
No, there isn't any compatibility.
I recorded my song with Send/Return effects, and convert it to the file that can be used on computer. However, I cannot hear any effect sound when I play it on the computer.
Send/Return effect are inserted to stereo output, not input, after 4 tracks are mixed. So you can hear effected sound for playback sound, however recorded data is not effected, dry sound. If you need to make data with effect, please execute "bounce" while using send/return effects. Please refer "Bounce" function on the operation manual.
Indicator displays FULL and I cannot record anymore.
Supplied SmartMedia with the MRS-4 is 32 MB, so total recordable time are 16 minutes (for all tracks and use Hi-Fi mode). It means that FULL will be displayed when you record each 4 minutes for 4 tracks. If you use 128 MB SmartMedia, then recordable time is increased to 4 times more. Even cost for SmartMedia is expensive, you can keep low running cost as:
1. Record completed data to DAT or Mini Disk..
2. Save data to computer by using card manager.
Recorder stops during playback and the indication "FULL" appears.
When a track is played while being selected for recording, a temporary file is created in the MRS-4. If the remaining capacity on the SD card is fully taken up by this file, a forced playback stop may occur. In such a case, please cancel the record selection of the track.
When I try to format a card, the indication "CdPrtCt" appears and the formatting process does not go ahead.
The SmartMedia card has a write-protect sticker attached. Remove the sticker and try again.
I want to burn WAV files exported with the Card Manager to an audio CD. How can I do this?
Before using your CD writing software, you must convert the sampling frequency to 44.1 kHz which is the standard used for CD audio. Use a freeware waveform editor or other suitable software to convert the sampling rate.
Can I apply reverb to the input signal for recording?
