Why RT-323 that I have just purchased has no Smart Media Card?
Smart Media card is optional accessory for the RT-323, since it is popular memory device for digital camera. You can find it easily at the shop where digital camera or computer is displayed. If you cannot find it, please ask Zoom distributor in your country. We are supplying it via distributor also.
What type of Smart Media Card can be used for saving the data?
You can use Smart Media Card in 4MB/-128MB/3.3V. There is no problem also "With ID" type. When saving only the RT-323's data, small capacity is enough (50-80 songs are possible to be saved on 8MB Smart Media), so please purchase most cost effective Smart Media card in current market.
When reading the data from Smart Media card, "ERROR" is indicated on display.
Most of cases, the dirt of contact area (gold part) is the cause. Please clean up contact area with soft cloth carefully and try on it again. When it still cannot be read, it is possible that breakage of Smart Media card or saved Data, please try new smart media card.
As both of RT-323 and PS-02 are using smart media card, do they have compatibility?
They have compatibility for rhythm pattern. You can use the original rhythm pattern in PS-02 created by RT-323.
Please note that as PS-02 has limitation of polyphony, drum kits or bass sounds, it is possible to differ from RT-323's sound sometimes.
The audio data of PS-02 cannot be read in RT-323.
What function will become possible, when using Expression Pedal FP02 or Foot Switch FS01?
When using FP-02, you are able to control the function same as the Jam Slider by foot, like opening/closing of hi-hat, change of volume and sound character.
What is the Sub Out?
Sub Out is the audio output which can outputs specific sound separately to mixed out, like snare, hi-hat, etc. As RT-323 has two lines of this output, Bass sound can be played on another line, or Snare sound can be added another effect by external equipment, for example.
Are full MIDI functions supported?
MIDI IN/OUT is equipped and full MIDI functions are supported. Synchronizing (both of master or slave) with other equipment by MIDI clock, using as drum sound module, data bulk dumping, etc. are possible. In addition, it is also possible to record MIDI data of other equipment using Song Track i.e. MIDI sequencer function. For example, you can drive sampler ST-224 by MIDI data, recorded in the Song Track of RT-323.

It is out of sync with other MIDI equipment.
RT-323 allows you to synchronizing with other MIDI equipment using MIDI Clock. However, MTC( Midi Time Code) is not available.
When I try to format a card, the indication "ERROR" appears and the formatting process does not go ahead.
The SmartMedia card has a write-protect sticker attached. Remove the sticker and try again.
Is there a backlight for the LCD panel?
No. The LCD panel of the RT-323 is not equipped with a backlight.
